Operation: Rostock. 86 Stirlings to attack the Henkel factory. A deliberate smoke screen hid the factory and the bombing was scattered as a result. 8 losses (9.3%). Reason for Loss: Presumed Lost over the Baltic Sea.

Word has been received of the decoration of wings being bestowed on two more Lindsay boys, namely: G. V. Maunder, who secured his wings at Mountain View; and G. J. Williams, who graduated with his wings at Rivers, Man. July 22, 1942. C. V. Maunder is a son of Mr. Les. Maunder of Lindsay.

Cliff Maunder Reported Missing

It was reported on Thursday that Sgt. Cliff Maunder of the R.C.A.F.formerly of town, is missing. His brother, Jack, was a former reporter of the "Daily Post". Another brother, Harold, is in the army overseas.

His father, Mr. Les Maunder, is employed at the National Grocers here. It has been reported in Haliburton that Mrs. C. L. Maunder of Oshawa, received word that her husband, Sgt. Maunder who has been overseas since last August was missing. The news was received in Haliburton with deep regret. Sgt. Maunder enlisted from Haliburton in Dec. 1940, and trained at Brandon, Man., Ottawa, Montreal and Trenton. He graduated as an air gunner in Trenton,Ont., in July, 1942.

Before enlisting, he lived in Haliburton two years and his many friends hope Mrs. Maunder and son John, receive more news very soon that will be more encouraging.
